Amanda K. Compton, an FNTP, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020. In this episode, we learn about her experience and how she uses a holistic method to improve her condition. With the support of her family and the knowledge and education she had as an FNTP, she successfully fights the breast cancer without chemo and radiation.

Let’s jump in!

After all, your own motivation and methods play a crucial role in healing yourself.

Time Stamps

1:38-3:39

Amanda K. Compton introduces herself and explains how she spent her early years supporting her husband as he got a PhD in organic chemistry, which then led him into breast cancer research. Compton was a homeschool mom and decided to pursue the Nutritional Therapy Association (NTA) to become a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP).

4:01-7:32

Here, Compton describes the time she was diagnosed with breast cancer, which was very unlike what she expected. She enlightens us about her experience and how previous situations prepared her for what a holistic approach could look like.

7:44-10:42

Compton goes on to discuss the expense of holistic cancer treatment and her experience with the nurse, as it was incredibly vague and left Compton with more questions. She ran a GIMAP, MRT Food Sensitivities Panel, Metabolic Blood Panels, OAT, and a DUTCH test.

10:58-16:58

Here we learn how Compton went about interpreting the lab results. RWS set her up well to review all of them on her own with the exception of the DUTCH test. She recruited the help of a fellow NTP for help. Compton also tells us about the lump she had to get removed surgically and the supplements she needed later.

18:17 – 20:22

Compton saw great results, and continued to retest and monitor labs. She explains how powerful it was to be able to understand her blood test results and have intelligent conversations with her doctor.  Compton also tells us what specific markers she monitored closely.

23:05-26:59

Compton explains the specific foods she prioritized and avoided and how she continued to stay motivated. Her focus was reducing starchy and sugary foods while increasing colorful vegetables.

27:05-30:10

Here we learn about Compton’s family support during her struggle with cancer. She also discusses the specifics of healing her body from the cancer.

Key Takeaways

#1 Knowledge is Empowerment

It was brilliant to see Compton was able to understand and interpret her functional lab tests and make the appropriate changes to her diet and lifestyle. Having such knowledge and understanding enabled her to make informed decisions. It is a great reminder that we should ultimately always be in control of our health journey.

#2 Focus on the Holistic Approach

We learn from Compton that cancer treatments must always use a holistic approach. She integrated functional testing, medical treatment, and nutrition while fighting breast cancer. It is a more comprehensive method when it comes to addressing health challenges.
